There are some important considerations to think about before you book one of the great rooms at Excellence Playa Mujeres.
How much time will you actually spend in your room? What will you use your room for? What are the most important amenities you want in your room?
I think most people would say they love the ocean views, but I’m really crazy for pools.
I enjoy relaxing on my furnished terrace and being able to take just a few steps to the lazy river, where I can float my way to the pools and the friendly bartenders at the swim-up bar.
Some folks prefer to be away from the action and enjoy the peace and quiet of a tropical garden view…..lounging on the comfy patio furniture or their private outdoor Jacuzzi is perfect for quiet romance (if you don’t mind the birds who like to sing from the palm trees, of course).
Whichever suite you choose, you’ll find plenty of goodies in the room.
Here’s a tip. Check out the fridge in your room upon arrival, and let the front desk know if you would like to swap out some of the juices, spirits, and snacks. They will happily make the adjustments so you’ll have the stuff you most enjoy. Service is over-the-top.
Let’s talk about the Excellence Club which is basically a “resort within the resort”.
This is luxury and VIP treatment squared. Expedited private check-in and check-out are a bonus. The impressive ocean views from every suite are standard.
You can enjoy a private pool, private beach area, a bonus buffet in the Club (including a Barista who makes the effort to learn how you like your coffee), premium wine upgrades, and options for square footage approaching 2,000 square feet. If you are planning on entertaining (for example if you’re hosting a family reunion or wedding), the huge suites with separate living and dining areas are perfect.
Do you plan on hiding away with your “someone special”, cuddling on the sun beds, or sharing the Jacuzzi?
Then a Junior Suite may be the ticket for you. The super-comfy King beds are exceptional although there is an option for two beds (for those flip-flopping cover-hoggers).
